What was the problem?

In 2022, EyrID was approached by a company that needed help. The company needed a simple and easy method to secure, control and monitor their data and files. 

EyrID recommended implementing SailPoint’s File Access Manager solution. File Access Manager (FAM) governs access to sensitive and regulated unstructured data across applications, files, and storage devices — whether on-premises or in the cloud. It enables companies to identify and remediate overexposed permissions to reduce risk and satisfy strict compliance requirements.

How did we solve their problem?

After familiarizing with the client’s technical architecture, EyrID utilized its technical resources to implement the technology. We connected File Access Manager to their active directory and to the applications where their files and data reside.

Finally, we trained their team not only how to use the technology but how to make the most of it. The client can now successfully move onto the second stage of their identity journey which involves introducing a data classification system to automate access rights.

Introducing FAM enabled the organization gained visibility into who had access to which files. This way they could ensure that only the right people had access to the right files. They also set up alerts and reports so they could continuously monitor that only the right people had access to the files but also allowed them to gain visibility into what they were doing with those files.
